Abstract:
Saltmarsh data shows the areal locations of salt marshes within the Avon-Heathcote Estuary. Data was captured in summer of 2006/2007 as part of the study, Ecology of the Avon-Heathcote Estuary: Comparative Salt Marsh Survey 2006-2007 (University of Canterbury). The recordings were done with a trimble Geo-XT GPS unit.
This layer contains locations of specific salt marshes, name of general area, areal size and what the dominant vegetation species was in each. This was done with the aim to compare against the results of a previous study (McCombs and Patridge, 1992) and see the changes over time. |

Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.
