Abstract: Coastal Water Quality Areas as shown in Map Series 1 in the Canterbury Regional Coastal Environment Plan (RCEP) 2005. Clipped to extent of Avon-Heathcote Ihutai Estuary survey area. Areas as defined in Schedule 5 (Definitions of Areas and Sites) of the RCEP. Each unit in the layers is classified for management in accordance with the following classes: (i) Class Coastal AE waters (being water managed for the maintenance of aquatic ecosystems). (ii) Class Coastal CR waters (being water managed for contact recreation and the maintenance of aquatic ecosystems). (iii) Class Coastal SG waters (being water managed for shellfish gathering, contact recreation and the maintenance of aquatic ecosystems - there are no features of this type within the survey area).

Abstract:
